Layering a Shirt Under a Sleeveless Dress

Happy Friday!  This was a good week since I got Hamilton tickets!!  Granted they are for May 2018(!) when the show finally comes to Atlanta, but I became a season ticket holder of the theater here just to make sure I got tickets.

What are you guys up to this weekend?  I’m laying low tonight since I’m the guest speaker in a Strategy MBA class tomorrow and I need to finish my presentation.  Nothing like leaving it to the last minute!  I love the added pressure of a deadline and almost need it to focus.  Am I the only one who is weird like that?  However, it would be nice to be doing something else on a Friday night other than creating slides….

Anyway, enough rambling.  I’m sharing another work outfit today.  I found this pinstripe Derek Lam dress on major sale after Christmas but couldn’t quite figure out how to style it.  It is a sleeveless dress and none of my jackets looked good with it since it has a flounce hem.  I finally had an aha! moment when I decided to put something under it, instead of over it.  Layering a shirt under a sleeveless dress is one of my favorite tricks to take a dress from summer to winter or just to make an outfit more interesting.  Just make sure whatever you layer underneath is slim fitting and fairly thin.  I don’t know about you, but I never want to add extra bulk!
