Top: Cypress & 5th Palm Beach Top / Jeans: Joe’s, similar / Bag: Old Navy / Shoes: Target, similar / Earrings: Bauble Bar
Happy Friday! It is crazy to me that it is the middle of August. I know I say this every month, but the year is flying by. I can’t be the only one trying to savor every last day of summer.
I’ve mentioned Cypress and 5th on the blog before (here). They are an Atlanta-based styling subscription service founded by 2 wonderful women with great taste. I’m constantly in awe of some of the amazing women I’ve met through blogging. One of the things I love about Jen, one of the founders, is her ability to find great pieces that push me out of my comfort zone.
Sometimes I get stuck in my head over what is “appropriate” for someone my age or what I “should” wear. It is times like that when I need a little kick in the butt to stop taking fashion (and myself) so seriously and just have fun with it. Who cares as long as I feel good in an outfit?
This top is a perfect example. The palm print is perfect for summer and the exposed back is sexy without being overly sexy. I normally don’t show this much skin, but felt very comfortable in this top. I got quite a few compliments when I wore this a few weekends ago, including from my mom who will tell it like it is! For ~$30, it was low risk way to step out of my comfort zone. Now, I just have to find a few more times to wear it before summer is over (with higher rise jeans next time, lol!)…
