I don’t know about you, but I am so happy it is Friday! I was dragging through the week. I don’t know if I’m still adjusting to Daylight Savings or it is my allergies by I was absolutely exhausted this week! I definitely plan to take it easy this weekend and enjoy some family time on Sunday. I’m switching it up a bit today and sharing a few things I’m really into right now.

One: This quote above (insert praise hands!). At the end of last year, I felt like I was in a total rut and it really had me a little down. I mean, don’t get me wrong. Things for the most part were going really well, but I just felt like so blah and disengaged. I remember watching a segment on the Today show that said that the happiest people start off the day by recalling 3 things that they are thankful for and I thought, “What do I have to lose?”. 3 months or so later, I definitely feel like this has helped me put a lot into perspective and I genuinely feel like I’m in a better place than I was coming into the year.
Two: Hamilton on Fallon and at the White House. I admit I have fallen into the hype around the Broadway musical Hamilton and can’t wait to see it in a few years when the hype dies down, lol! The writer and creator was featured on Jimmy Fallon and did free style rap with The Roots using the most random words from the Wheel of Freestyle. Even if you aren’t a rap fan, you will admire this guy’s amazing skills at how he manages to use Darth Vader and The Federalist Papers in a song that he makes up on the spot!
Three: This black midi dress is very similar to the Self-Portait dresses, but at a fraction of the price. I’ve admired Self-Portrait dresses for years, but can’t justify spending that much money on a dress I will wear once or twice. I wish I had more opportunities to dress up, but sadly I don’t. I might have to create some, lol! This dress is perfect for spring and summer wedding season and I might have to pick it up for one of the 2 weddings I have this year.
Four: Books are a weakness of mine. I love to read. If you liked Narcos, I recently finished Power of the Dog and The Cartel, a 2 part series that follows the rise of a family in the Mexican drug trade. They are so well-written (the first one especially!) and give a fascinating view of the rise of the drug trade (and a somewhat depressing view of how entrenched it is…). I flew through both of them. If you are pressed for time, the Power of the Dog is the first and better of the two. Have you read any great books recently? I would love any recommendations!
Five: Pimm’s cups! I recently had one at a bar and I think I’ve found my summer drink. Now if pool weather would just get here… I can’t wait to try my hand at this version of the recipe.
I hope you have a great weekend and Happy Easter!

It’s amazing what gratitude can do to shift your perspective. I love all those Self-Portrait dresses! I found a knock off too. :)
