I hope you had a great holiday weekend! I think this was the first time I’ve every felt like a long weekend was long enough. On Friday, I threw out my to-do list (with a few exceptions) and just focused on enjoying the gorgeous weather and relaxing. I actually finished this book that I’ve been meaning to read for months! It took me a while to get into it, but then I couldn’t put it down. I know it is old, but I really liked it!
This past weekend I also attended a gala to celebrate 50 years of Barbados’ independence, since my dad is from Barbados. It is crazy to think that he has been alive longer than the island has been independent, but that is another story for another day. Like a lot of people, I’ve admired the Self Portrait dresses, but I can’t justify spending that much money on a dress I will wear once or twice. I mean, if one showed up in my closet, I wouldn’t send it back, but… This Aqua black lace midi dress is a Self Portrait Azaelea dress dupe and a perfect way to try this trend for several hundred less than a Self Portrait dress would cost. This black lace midi dress is perfect for a summer wedding guest outfit for a black tie or cocktail affair. I got so many compliments on this dress and felt gorgeous in it. I’ve definitely got my eye on a few of the dresses below and now just need somewhere to wear them!

I’m with you! I love the Self-Portrait dresses but can’t justify the cost. Your dress is one of my favorites dupes! It has the same exact style and look! Plus it looks gorgeous on you!
