I hope you had a great weekend! I’m sorry for being MIA last for the past 2 weeks. I definitely overestimated how much I could realistically do. Between traveling for fun (Napa) and work (NYC), something had to give and unfortunately it was the blog. But, you know what? I’m actually okay with that. I’ve learned that I can’t be too hard on myself when I can’t finish everything. I just have to learn from my mistakes and hopefully not repeat them again.
So, what did I learn?
- Taking a redeye and then going straight into work only sounds good in theory. I used to be a consultant and travel 4 days a week. Sometimes I revert back to that road warrior mindset of trying to maximize every single moment at the expense of sleep (and health). I was exhausted all week from this basically all-nighter.
- Blogging on the road is HARD! One of my resolutions this year was to be more present in the moment. I had so much fun in Napa that I didn’t want to step aside for even an hour to put up a blog post. Besides, I think we are all happy that I didn’t post after some of those wine tastings! Drunk posting, like drunk dialing, while funny, is never quite appropriate.
- You have to cut yourself some slack sometimes (and plan to succeed). Going into my week of travel, I knew that I would have a crazy schedule. I didn’t set myself up for success since I didn’t set aside time to blog ahead of time. In an ideal world, I would have planned for 2-4 hours to write, edit posts over the course of the week. However, I had a amazing week exploring 2 cities and reconnecting with friends, which is an important thing.
On the fashion front, I’m sharing another one of my H&M finds. This white sleeveless blouse outfit is such a classic with my Treasure & Bond jeans. I also wore it in NYC with black skinny pants and a jean jacket for my conference. It is such an easy piece to dress up or down!

I’m glad you enjoyed your vacation time and were able to give yourself some grace from not being able to get it all done! And this is such a perfectly chic, classic outfit!

I am so glad you are cutting yourself some slack. I travel a lot for work now and I CANNOT blog while on the road. I have tried every single trip and I just cannot do it. I’ve learned to not beat myself up and just go with the flow!
Happy Monday!

I’m slowly but surely learning to cut myself some slack too. It is just unnecessary stress. So glad to hear you were present during your Napa trip! And girl, I don’t know how you did it with all that traveling and riding the red-eye! I hope this week you get some rest and catch up on sleep!
