Summer Business Casual Outfit

I hope your week is going well!  It is so interesting to see how our tastes change over time.  Up until few years ago, I never wore the color navy.  I always stuck to black and didn’t believe in mixing the two colors.  I finally dipped my toe into the navy waters with a Gap navy schoolboy blazer that I loved so much I had to buy a second one!  Needless to say, I now love navy.  This may have a little something to do with my newfound love of stripes(!).  I think it is also because I find navy to be less harsh than black and a little more flattering for me.

When I saw this navy bow shoulder top at J. Crew, I knew that it would become a staple of my summer wardrobe and it definitely has! The striped (!) bow sleeves add a little bit of interest and keep it from being a boring shell.  I’ve worn everywhere from wine tasting in Sonoma to dinner with friends to work.  This top looks great with white jeans on the weekend.  However, it also easily transforms to a casual summer business casual outfit for work with the addition of a jean jacket (or even a navy or camel blazer if your office is a little fancier than mine).

It is marked down now to ~$20 and if you can get it when J.Crew runs one of their sales on sale items, it is a total steal!
